Dokulu

About

Our Story

Nicole Holliday is the founder and visionary behind Dokulu, and for her Dokulu has always been about love. Loving the planet, loving its people and the love of beautiful designs.

From the beginning we refused to compromise on compassion. We wanted to create beautiful handmade towels that were ethical and sustainable from tassel to tassel.

We designed them here in Charleston, SC, then searched for the perfect people in Turkey to bring our vision to life. We sourced organic cotton, found a dye house that could dye our towels sustainably. We found a looming town where the century-old tradition of hand looming was still alive.

We are so proud of what Dokulu has become, and your support makes it possible to do what we do. Thank you for shopping ethically.

Our Promise

Dokulu is a globally conscious, woman-owned company started to honor the craft of making Turkish Towels through a more authentic and sustainable approach.

Our production process is completely ethical from start to finish. The artisans who create for us are paid a living wage, work in clean safe facilities and are never exposed to any harmful chemicals or asked to work unreasonable hours.

We wish to bring you towels with the most beautiful modern bohemian designs, of the highest quality, while preserving the ancient cultural traditions, and craftsmanship of these beautiful functional pieces of art.

Our towels are ethically hand loomed in Turkey using 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton and sustainable OEKO-TEX dyes. We use only recyclable materials and ZERO plastic in our product packaging. Even our stickers are bio degradable.

A Dokulu towel in the making.
